The Importance of International Relations in Political Science
I used to be a very respectable and serious political scientist and then walked off this cliff into science fiction. So what happened was I was invited to go teach in China over the summer and this actually ended up being kind of a far summer long thing. And it turns out that Game Thrones was really big at the time for some pretty understandable cultural reasons, right? If you watch any Chinese television channel, you're going to see dragons and dynastic struggles and so forth. It's just like spectacularly well-produced version of something quite familiar but different.
