The Brain's Conjuring on the Fly
When you are representing or thinking about a category, really what you're doing is your brain is conjuring the best instance of that category for whatever you need to use it for. So this was very instructive to me. It allowed me to understand that one of the things that the human brain must be doing is it must be categorizing. And I in in 2006 started to write about the idea that the brain is using concepts to create emotion categories.
