The Jousting Accident and the January of 1536
In 1536, Henry VIII fell from his horse whilst jousting. He was unconscious for two hours and opened up an ulcer in his leg that never healed. This caused him to develop a pulmonary embolism which led to his death 10 years later. His waist measurement also increased by five inches during the same year. And as a result of this accident, Anne Boleyn says she miscarryed after hearing news of the Kings Four's deaths.
