Snore's Account of the Battle of Fulford Gate

Snore says that the norse charge was so brutal that it wasn't long before the english broke and fled the field in a panic. He tells us that some tried to flee up or down river, but most fled into the swamp where they were drowned. John of worcester tries to put a more positive spin on it by adding that the english put up a stout fight with great loss. But everyone, the english, the scandinavians, the icelandic poets, every one agrees that this was an unmitigated disaster for the english.
