Stoicism is a greek roman philosophy sturdied out in elenistic greece. The first stoic philosophers were meeting as a group in that kind of open public ment at the time. Am, specifically bya ing what is and isn't under your control, and not feeling negatively about the things that you can't control. And also sort of seeing the world deterministically, like understanding the mechanisms that cause things to happen.
