Is There Evidence From Randomized Trials or Other Kinds of Evidence?

Medical nihilism is the view that we ought to have low confidence in the effectiveness of medical interventions and particularly novel medical interventions. We need both evidence from randomized trials and we need appealing to other kinds of knowledge, like background theory, knowledge of mechanisms by which interventions modulate our physiology or so on. The benefits of randomized trials can be used to offset those other problems as well.
