The Story of Charles and Diana
Diana was hugely popular with the British public, far more so than Charles. Polling from 1997 showed that she had an approval rating of plus 66. With Charles at minus 7, and the royal family at minus 15. He has faced continued criticism in the media for what was perceived to be an extravagant lifestyle even by royal standards. By the time he was crowned King, Charles reportedly had six homes, a large staff of servants, eleven secretaries, and a selection of expensive cars.
