I talked to President Trump three times and strongly urged him to reconsider the Trans-Pacific Partnership. To walk away from TPP in my opinion was a strategic mistake of the highest order. I think absolutely that the embrace of unfettered free trade without appropriate consideration of the American workforce was something that a lot of people were saying, but it wasn't listened to. And in large measure led to the so-called populism in American politics today.
