Is Teaching Full Time a Second Job?

In an academic medical center, I think it's a lot easier for physicians. Some places where I teach at Georgetown that I'm aware of, all of our at least acute care faculty practice full time. But to be honest, at least for nursing, teaching full time is a pay cut. You know people who have cut their salary almost in half by leaving clinical practice to teach full time because the money isn't there.
