The Importance of Men in History
William Boyd: I think military history must be read more by men, historically that must be the game. There's this great quote that I always use, which I've quoted in the paper before - a historian called Treveleion. He talks about the poetry of history and the idea that where you're standing, where you're thinking about someone else has wandered there. It's also what would it would have been like for me. That's a very peculiar, attractive thing to think about. And so when they're well written, that's what he says,. You know, what was it really like. William Boyd thank you very much indeed. Thanks a lot.
