CHAPTER

The Opposition to Transhumanism

I was just reading recently about how transhumanism is kind of lost its luster, because we've made so many breakthroughs. I know people who are far more optimistic about the pace at which will develop AGI than I am. Lots of aspects of the genetic architecture that we've discovered just in the last five years are super favorable to transhumanism. It's not implausible to me that we could have humans whose natural life spans are 200 years or more and their average IQs are well over 200 or 300 with any meaning. All these things I think are possible so to deny ourselves that just seems crazy.
