I think most humans crave some sort of interaction. And so the shopping thing is a bit like that because you're getting interaction with lots of people. It reminds us of the social species we are, which you may or may not get when you buy a hundred items in the supermarket and off you go. Whereas if you gain individual shops, now I wouldn't let you get a 10 shot of some time. But if we had human economics, which is we actually rewarded people in terms of the human perceived value they created rather than purely on what you might call a reductionist model of business efficiency.
