Is There a Matrix Product Operation That Produces a Constant?
So that's sort of a mathematical trick. You can take this matrix, you can, there is a matrix, so called rotation matrix, that a you can construct that represents a rotation through a certain angle. And whatever vector you feed it, it will do the same thing again and again. So for many kinds of junk that you can put into that matrix, it will be the case that the matrix times a vector will produce something which is not necessarily that vector itself but that vector multiplied by some constant. It may be better to try and explain this geometrically.
