What's the Importance of Probability in Physics and Real Life?
There are optimists out there, but to take people who are very closely allied with Stephen Pinker, okay? Great optimist. But there is pessimistic stuff in his work. Probability is a scam, I think David has said at some point. It doesn't track physical reality at all. What's importance of probability in physics and real life? Not important. And it's that kind of reasoning that leads to people becoming prophets, thinking they can prophesy, and therefore they tend towards pessimism.
