I think education is an issue like that. At least especially in California where the teachers union is such a powerful influence. Talking about school choice and tuition tax credits and charter schools were met with often very difficult to get people through there. And housing seems to be one of those ones where particularly the left stakes out a position that is so obviously anti the poor. I mean, it seems totally obvious that if you want to make housing cheaper, you need to build more of it. But their willingness to just basically keep people on the street so that those people won't live in their neighborhoods or there won't be more houses is really disheartening.
