i want to read some excerpts from the introduction and chapter one of this book, called the read aloud handbook, by jim trelease. Back in 19 82, when the first edition appeared, there was no internet or email, no cell phones, debity players, itunes, eye pots, yepads, amazon e books, yfi, facebook or twitter. The closest thing to an instant message was a facial expression that exasperated mothers gave their children as a warning. And so too, this book has evolved. But these arguments are really profoundly valuable.
