The Pulitzer Prize and the Creative Pushback
You lost your British publisher with that book people didn't rush to wrap their arms around less correct in the beginning yeah not at all I lost my French publisher lots of other publishers because my books didn't sell. If you are middle aged and have five or six books and they're not selling that's the worst place to be in publishing. You're just kind of in the middle place where no one has any faith in you anymore That was really we went to 12 publishers in the UK and all of them turned less down. Then the book is published and it winds up winning the Pulitzer Prize which I have to imagine is always something of a surprise to an author.
