What Is a Statute of Limitations?
In two thousand 19 youv passed legislation that extends the statute of limitations for survivors of sexual abuse who are seeking justice in court. In most cases, there are some crimes, i believe, like murder, where there is no statute of limitations. There's often a statute for variety of reasons. One, you can't preserve evidence. So to have integrity in the trial of the witnesses, you need to do it a certain time. And what we had with childhood's sexual assault is actually a lot of people knew wit was happening. We actually have official documents, like the church, the boy scouts, they actually had complaints that were filed, that were put away, that there still exist.
