The Dangers of Techno-Solutionism

In 2010, Facebook introduced a ton of people to facial recognition technology by implementing it on the social platform. The US Department of Defense got involved in developing AI for military and defense purposes. If there's money to be made in weaponizing a technology, someone will step in to fill that market need. And malicious AI is a certainty. Not because AI is inherently bad, but because there are people who will see opportunity in directing AI toward malicious goals,. Nothing will stop them.
