David Hampton Butler Jr.

David Hampton Butler senior was arrested for being a cocaine smuggler in 1984. He tried to portray himself as an undercover FBI informant during his trial. His son, David Hampton Jr., decided to kidnap him the next month and get out of jail. After he is found guilty on all charges, Mr.Hampton appeals but it doesn't work. The U.S. Supreme Court affirms his conviction after he appeals it.
