Cortes had heard enough. He rounds up all the nobles in the city of chulula, and once they are all in the same room, the conquistidors draw their swords and load their crossbows. The spaniards butcher the unarmed nobility of chelula. It's a massacre. And it apparently took about two hours to kill them all. After that, cortez lets his army of indigenous allies into the city, and chalula is sacked and destroyed. Back in tinochitlan, the emperor mactezuma, hears that shalula, the religious epiceter of the empire, had been wiped off the map. In that horrifying moment
