Commodus's Character: A Questionable Ruler

As far as we know Commodus was a bad ruler and the thing we have to be a little bit wary of is the Roman histories tend to not be even handed they usually kind of go to one extreme or the other. imagine that being the son of Marcus Aurelius that he would have passed on his wisdom but you you write in your book that Commodus's character was a little bit questionable yeah. He seems to have overturned some of the policies that his father had in place like abandoning the northern frontier by bribing the enemy tribes so he went for a quick fix solution.
