Building a Career on Dirty Work
I think people have to have realistic expectations of like the job they're going to get. It doesn't matter how passionate you are, if you work hard and take opportunities, you can build a good career. In consulting, it's especially hard to hire junior people at smaller security organizations. There's sort of this magic spot as a security person where after you've done security work for six months to a year, you're more likely to fill other positions.
