The Theurgy and the Later Platonists

The Platonists were concerned with elevating the soul of the sage to the level of the supreme divine reality using rituals. These ideas also found their way into some of the foundational documents of Christianity and spawned a long tradition of spiritual magic within mainstream Orthodox and Catholic traditions. There's also a rich and complex Islamic legacy to these ideas, so there'll be a lot to explore in the Theorgy tradition in the course of this podcast.
