I'm sure that there's plenty of money to be made providing a service like this. Whether or not it's a net good for society, I think is a harder thing and more of a philosophical debate. Most people who don't actually see the need to remove trusted third parties would be happy to have a service that makes sure they can't lose their funds. If you are purely seeking profit over principles, I think this move makes sense.
