Faulkner Was a Great Writer
Faulkner went to Hollywood as a great writer, but he didn't care for the social climate. He was very offended when people changed the scripts and things like that. One of the most intriguing things for a biographer of Faulkner is that he left no diaries. But his letters compared to say the letters of Fitzgerald or Hemiway with some, of course, remarkable exceptions.
