What Makes Us Human?

Historical materialism is the idea that humans come together to produce the means of our survival. This base mode of production defines all the other parts of a society's cultural superstructure, such as art, religion, philosophy and politics. The resulting law and art and religion serves to justify and maintain the prevailing mode of production.
