The Role of Socioeconomic Status in Gender Gaps
The gender gap among Christians as well as some gender differences in other faith traditions, varying size and different regions of the world. Women who participate in the labor force tend to show lower levels of religious commitment than women who do not work outside of the home for pay. This pattern holds even after counting for other factors that are also associated with religious commitment, such as education level, age and marital status.
