A lot of people argue that the crime prison relationship runs in the opposite direction. One view is oh my gosh with crimes falling why are we having so many people in prison and some people say well causation runs the other way. Is there any reliable evidence that it disentangles that causation problem? It's obviously a tricky thing, but I don't think anyone would argue that that's all of it.
