What Has Happened Since the Media Attention on Schulanka Has Faded?
There were underlying economic issues with sarian undervalued currency and several other problems that were compounded by global, global factors like cova 19 and the warren ucrane. The immediate tention has faded, but the situation is nowhere near resolved. Thereis a new president. He was elected by parliament rather than the public, so there are some concerns about his legitimacy. But we quickly saw the police and the army come in and break up the main protest site. Also, we've seen some arrests of those who participated in the protests. And this has been concerning, especially two western diplomats who have spoken out on the issue.
