Since vietnam, most of america's wars have been smaller with less intense fighting and dying. The nation's post nine 11 wars in erok and afghanistan have killed an estimated 500 thousand people. Daniel imervar says the united states has invented a new kind of empire which i call a pointlist empire. Because is defined mainly by just having a lot of dots and islands and little enclaves in pockets of land.
