The Interdisciplinarity of Philosophy in the 17th Century
Much of your work is focused on the early modern period and the 17th century in particular. Could you tell us what it is about the century that speaks to you? I think that 17th century philosophy invites this kind of interdisciplinarity, which is a very refreshing antidote to the extreme professionalization of contemporary work. Another thing I like is what we might call the agonism of 17th century philosophers and their whole milieu.
