The Roots of Revivalism

I think there's, as you're saying, the roots of this revivalism. I would group kind of Pentecostals and Charismatics within that tradition. Many evangelicals we kind of date their traditions or date their identities back to one of those revivals. And so even left leaning evangelicals, and I don't say left evangelicals necessarily because right there's still conservative culturally but left leaning evangelicals people are relatively left leaning within the evangelical spectrum. They still, I think, hope that revival is going to validate their form of evangelicalism.
