Is There a Future for Split Screen With iPad?

I feel that like when I use an iPhone, I'm an iPhone user right now. When I watch a YouTube video, and sometimes I want to write notes down, I have to go completely out the app. It's like, oh, come on, it's 2022. Give me a little split screen at least.
