The Black Sea Maritime Archeology

The Patriot disappeared at sea on January 2, 1813, taking all of its passengers along with it. Some believed the ship had been captured by pirates, while other spread rumors Theodosia B. Alston survived. It's believed she was ferrying a painting across the ocean as a gift for her father. A 75-foot ship remained untouched at 1.2 miles below the surface for over 2,400 years. Researchers believe this was an ancient Greek vessel used for trading purposes.
