Julie had been using anti-purse print deodorant at the Museum of Natural History. After swabbing her armpits, she noticed that there were no bacteria growing on them. She thought it could be because all those chemicals I was using on my skin had killed off the microbes in these places we'd sampled. To see if this happens for other people, she and her colleagues went on to do a small study about what happens when we use anti-purses.
