The Birth of Artificial Intelligence
The dot math conference in 1956 was the birth of artificial intelligence. People were thinking along those lines for decades before that. They figured, wow, if we have a computer can prove theorems, then certainly it could be able to do other forms of intelligence and maybe even build robots. That era was really kind of an exciting one. But then, you know, if it's, I would say, petered out when they began to realize how difficult the problems were.
