The UN's Election Shenanigans in Korea

John Foster Dulles was, in a sense, the godfather of the South Korean Republic. He had successfully sponsored an institution to circumvent the Soviet veto power on the Security Council. The interim committee voted to authorize the separate elections in South Korea that led to the creation of the Republic. Canada, Australia, the Philippines, and the still just hanging on nationalists in China were not so enthusiastic about it.
