How Can We Predict How We're Going to Act in a Game?
Gossip is a tool for vicarious learning. People can benefit from other people's experiences, right? And so one way we sought to test this is if we can predict how you're going to act in a future round of the game based upon how everybody in your group is behaving on a previous round - including the people that you can't see. That's exactly what we find, right? So it's like, here's the behavioral evidence that the people you can’t see when you can gossip end up becoming strongly predictive of your behavior in the game.
