The Importance of Appreciation

I think there is that way of reflecting on impermanence. It must come from the Tibetan tradition about the end of something being in its arising, noticing that. Appreciation even as things disappear doesn't it? We do not know if the Swiss are going to be back or if the ash trees are going to make it through. I mean I wonder this before, is that inability to really grasp our own impermanence or our own mortality makes it difficult for us to really appreciate that on a planetary or a social level,. You know on a bigger level. we are in denial about our own mortality. How does that bleed across to denial about planetary extinction or whatever?, he asks.
