The Fate of Paul Is Not Given to Us in This Book
The fate of Paul is not actually given to us in this book. Considering that so much of the book is concerned with paul, this might seem anticlimatic. It might seem as if luke has left us hanging very early. Tradition in first clement suggests that paul survived this trial through envy. The eye of the narrative is following paul on his s but it's about the continuing work of christ and the growth of the church. Rather than with the outcome of paul's trial, the book began with the preaching of the kingdom of god out from jerusalem. This movement was anticipated at several points previously by Luke.
