The Problem With the Definition of the Supernatural

The word supernatural has a long history going back to the Middle Ages and beyond. It was that God is always at work in the natural world and sometimes he does things which we wouldn't have expected, but it doesn't imply that God is normally absent. In our world today, particularly, I think in America, sadly, ever since the 18th century days, supernatural means a God who is normally outside the process reaching in,. doing something weird, and then as it were going away again. And that whole language of supernatural and miracle is part of the problem.
