The January Barometer

There's a usual 1.3 percent, excuse me, gain in the S&P 500 at this time of year. It's basically an indication that if people are buying at that period of time, it's a little bit of a warning sign for what's going on in the year. The 20th amendment to the Constitution took new Congresses convening into the first week in January, which we saw this year. So all these important events are packed into January and the market reacts to them.
