A Viking Ship Burial in a Ship
Odd is credited with introducing Christianity to the colony. A Viking named Erik the Red, arrives in Iceland in the year 950 at just 10 months old. His father had been banished from Norway for killing a man. He calls the new settlement Greenland, which sounds notably more hospitable and tempting than Iceland. Only 14 ships survive the crossing of the treacherous North Atlantic.
