The New Paganism

Paganism is about a sacred earth without a transcendent heaven. So the sense of transcendence is lost. It really is all about acquiring what i need, which i think plays into that whole consumeristic trend. People who say, give us this day our daily bread, and they mean it literally, find the church as good news because i have social capital. I have other people who are willing to lay down their life for me. And i'll lay down my life for you, and we'll follow the one who laid down his life for the world. Y, sign me up for that.
