Gold is an uncorrelated asset with US stocks that should go up over the long run and keep up with inflation rate. I'm not owning it for total global financial collapse, gold won't really help anyway. But yeah, gold can do well and the world doesn't have to end. We don't have to enter a med-max scenario.
