The Rise and Fall of the Aristocracy

There was plenty to go around for what amounted to a newly formed military aristocracy. A great deal of the regional elite simply left Africa when the vandals took over, mainly going to Italy. Friedemal would find himself set up in a nice, cushy villa surrounded by some of the most productive wheat fields and olive groves in the Mediterranean world. He worshipped as an Aryan Christian and did his best to make life difficult for any Nicene priests or bishops he came across.
