Myra claimed she only took part in the killings because Ian had drugged her. In 1998, she was moved to the medium security HM prison high point. She made three separate appeals against her life tariff that each one was rejected. The new laws agreed that judges, not politicians, should decide how long someone stays behind bars. Myra's supporters were hopeful this meant her tariff would be reexamined and she would be getting released. Luckily, they never had to worry about Myra's release because 10 days before the laws changed, Myra died from bronchial pneumonia, West Suffolk Hospital.
