The Emotions of Ancient Peoples

Historians of emotion look for something called emotives which are sentences and words explain a moment in time when somebody's mood or feelings have changed. If you're really lucky and this happens very rarely they tell you in graphic detail what they were feeling. Ancient Hebrews like to talk about the feelings they have in their liver when they're angry, asante people in Africa would talk about anger as being weeds bursting from the chest. We might be completely wrong about because we can't get into their heads you know.
