Biological Basis of Sex or Gender Differences

Most scans of the brain are done on adults, so it's difficult to determine if there is a biological basis for differences. There may be all kinds of social or cultural factors that are pushing the genders to diverge very subtly even in the early years. So I think even if you find a gender or sex difference in the brain, if it's later in development, it could just reflect these postnatal differences in socialization.
